Focus Areas: Global Ocean Literacy
Just 32% of the nation’s adults grasp basic environmental concepts. Even fewer understand more complex issues such as ecosystem decline, loss of biodiversity, non-point source pollution and watershed degradation.
The Waves of Change campaign has adapted the SeaKeepers "11 Ocean Critical Issues" as the base for its ocean literacy program.
The new Ocean 11 presentation has already been field tested in both High School and College levels.
Seakeepers is in the process of further expanding the Ocean 11 curriculum to become international in scope and developing a Seakiosk as a new means of ocean education.

The Waves of Change campaign is networking groups like SeaKeepers and The Ocean Project to reach zoos and aquariums so that large numbers of the public might improve ocean literacy.
The Waves of Change Campaign works with the entertainment industry and colleges & universities to provide new curriculum and programs to improve ocean literacy.
If you would like to schedule an Oceans 11 presentation to your group contact the waves of change to make arrangements.
Waves of Change is collaborating with the University of Mass. on a pilot ocean education program using the Science on the Sphere and remote sensing technology.
The Ocean Explorium is currently using the science on the sphere globe in a collaboration with the University of Massachusetts.
